GPAC is a multidisciplinary performing arts facility whose mission is to serve the customs past presenting the highest quality artistic endeavors to Brainwash, appoint, enrich and transform. Opened in 1994, GPAC is located in the center of Shelby County and has an acoustically perfect, 868 seat principal stage theater, the Watkins Studio Theater, and an outdoor space, The Grove. GPAC presents world-renowned performing artists in a variety of genres, year-round educational activities for all ages, rotating visual art exhibits, and many community events welcoming over 100,000 visitors annually.

Program Title: 2021-22 School Matinees
Program Type: Arts Appreciation
Program Description:
GPAC connects children, teachers and schools beyond the Mid-South with the performing arts during heady weekday performances of music, trip the light fantastic and theater. GPAC student matinees are specifically designed to engage students on a deeper level by exposing them to loftier-quality performing arts, complementing schoolhouse curricula and expanding cultural awareness.

Program Title: GPAC Youth Symphony Program

Programme Description:
The GPAC Youth Symphony program (GYSP) gives opportunities for young musicians beyond in the Mid South expanse to perform musical masterworks under the direction of experienced conductors and teachers, to improve upon their technique, acquire basic music theory, piece of work with an ensemble and interact with professional guest artists performing at GPAC. With four singled-out ensembles, GYSP's splendid music education fosters musical growth with an emphasis on the interconnectedness of art, music, civilisation, history and society. Through this program, our students are equipped with the tools to become the adjacent generation of music advocates, educators, performers and patrons.
The GPAC Youth Symphony Program is dedicated to the highest standards of music and is open to career-oriented students as well equally those who wish to study music for the pure enjoyment, inherent benefits of and appreciation for the fine art grade. The program is divided into iv subsets: The Mozart String Ensemble for students ages 7-12; the Mendelssohn String Orchestra for students ages 12-16; the Wind Ensemble for woodwind, brass and percussion students and the GPAC Youth Symphony Orchestra. The full orchestra consists of strings, winds, brass, percussion, harp and keyboard for advanced students ages 14-19. Students are admitted annually through audition process.
The global pandemic of COVID 19 separated the Germantown Performing Arts Center (GPAC) Youth Symphony Programme from physically participating in one of the communities that gives u.s. identity, allows us to express and strop our talents, and provides us concrete, mental, and artistic care. Students responded to this event through The Listening Project designed by our Artistic Managing director, Mr. Jonathan Schallart.

Programme Title: PB&J on Tour at Schools

Program Clarification:
GPAC recognizes that non all children are able to attend the Peanut Butter & Jam sessions that are hosted at our location throughout the season because of transportation issues, the price of access, or both. The Atomic number 82 & J On Bout Program takes music and dance artists to selected schools all over the mid south are to perform for students in grades Chiliad-2.
The goals of this program are:

Introduce PreK-2 children to different styles and genres of music, movement, and performing arts.

Promote literacy through the performing arts
Outcomes include:

Spark classroom discussion and written response after viewing ii dissimilar performing arts genres.

Engage students during live performances through both physical (clap, tap, movement etc) and mental (mind, observe, understand, connect) senses.

Provide students with a "Brain Break"
GPAC schedules two dissimilar shows to be performed at your school in the fall and spring. Shows are specifically geared toward G-ii and vary in themes (music, trip the light fantastic toe, theater and cultural arts). GPAC provides all the necessary sound equipment (if schools do not have a sound organisation) to better raise the performance. Surveys will be conducted afterwards each performance along with a focus group at the cease of the GPAC season.
This Gratuitous program is funded through the GPAC Arts Instruction Fund and STS grants.
